Spectrum is the second-largest cable ISP in the US, covering 41 states. Its plans are simple, three tiers, but real-world speeds depend on your local node and modem.

Common issues and how to fix them

Upload feels slow on video calls: All Spectrum cable plans are asymmetric. The 35 Mbps upload on Gig is fine for one HD call but struggles with simultaneous uploads.
Intermittent disconnections: Usually a poor splitter or oxidised F-connector. Inspect the wall plate and the splitter in your basement; replace anything corroded.

Wired vs Wi-Fi checks

Bypass your own router and test wired directly off the Spectrum modem — support will ask for this result.
Compare with a Wi-Fi test next to the router and one in the problem room to tell coverage apart from line speed.
If wired direct is far below plan, request a modem check: older DOCSIS 3.0 units cannot sustain the higher tiers.
Inspect splitters and F-connectors between the wall plate and the modem; corroded or extra splitters cost real throughput.
Test morning and evening. A consistent shortfall is wiring or equipment; an evening-only drop points at node congestion.

Reading your result against your plan

All Spectrum cable tiers are asymmetric, so a low upload result is the plan design rather than a fault.
On a wired test, 80% or more of the advertised download is normal; Internet Gig is provisioned below a flat 1000 Mbps.
Results above roughly 940 Mbps need a 2.5 GbE port; a 1 Gbps port will always report less.
If upload is the blocker for video calls or backups, no in-home fix changes it — it needs a different product tier or technology.
